The brief asked for a new post 16 centre which treated the students like adults and invited them to behave accordingly. It combines a sixth form centre with facilities which were visited by the lower years giving a glimpse of something for them to aspire to.
The design process involved extensive stakeholder engagement including a student design competition which resulted in thoughtfully inventive screens
The building opens seamlessly into a welcoming courtyard at the front and a private sixth form garden to the rear giving the students an additional option for study or relaxation.
